What attracted you to a career with New Era? I’ve been a fan of the brand for a long time. When a friend of mine told me there was an opportunity at one of the stores I jumped at the chance.  I began working at the New Era Flagship store in Birmingham and then progressed onto becoming the London Soho Flagship manager when I made the move to London. It’s an exciting time to be a part of the brand.

For those who don’t know – how long has the London Soho Flagship been around? The London Soho store was our first European Flagship store, founded in 2007 in the heart of one of London’s busiest shopping areas.

Describe your store to us, what sets it apart from other New Era Flagship stores? The London Soho Flagship store was recently re-imagined with a cool, new look and design. We have a great custom program selection run by my Assistant Manager, Laurence – a certified New Era super fan, his selection usually sells out fast!

Which caps are the most popular in your store? 9FIFTY Snapbacks are proving really popular right now and we always have a fast turnaround of exclusive, custom product.

Tell us about your personal collection. – How many caps? In your opinion what are your favorite New Era releases of all time? I have around 200 caps, but it’s been a while since I last counted. My all time favorites are probably my ‘Negro League’ caps (none of which are available in Europe). The Mishka x Nash ‘Imperial’ cap is another favorite – it was the first cap I bought when I joined New Era and I still wear it 5 years on.

Tell us about your regular customers – do you have any ‘super fans’ that visit your store? We have a number of super fans who pass through regularly, including one with a new era tattoo across his back! It’s always great to connect with people who share a passion for the brand.

What’s your most memorable experience working at your store? Boxing day last year was pretty memorable – we sold about 300 caps in the first hour!

All New Era Flagship stores order their own exclusive custom products – are there any particular exclusives that our fans should know about? The #SWAG caps are pretty cool, limited edition pieces. We have some tasty products dropping  later this month too but I don’t want to give too much away – check our store Instagram/Twitter @new_era_ldn, follow us on Facebook and check out NewEraCapTalk to be the first to hear.

Have there been any worthwhile mentions or any surprise visits at the store? Lewis Hamilton actually passed through this morning, I don’t usually get star struck but I’m a big Formula 1 racing fan. We were also joined by a number of NFL players recently, visiting on their trip to the International Series Game at Wembley Stadium.

Why are their no Nintendo caps? For example the “M” from Super Mario As a company we’re known for collaborating with some of the world’s top brands, across both sports and lifestyle. All our licensed products are official – if there’s a licensed product you can’t find it may be that it released some time ago and hasn’t been re-released or we simply haven’t got the license at this time.

Why don’t you put out all your cool exclusive music note hats online for everyone to enjoy? We like to offer fans who visit our Flagship stores a unique experience, including the opportunity to purchase special pieces that their friends may not own! Some of our popular sellers such as a Sorry I’m Fresh and Music Note 59FIFTYs do make the web too but sell fast. Join our Facebook page [], follow us on Twitter and check out NewEraCapTalk to keep one step ahead.

Any jobs going there? Not right now, but we do have positions available from time to time. Keep an eye on the careers section of our website for updates
