The sock is back! Straight outta Fenway Park, the infamous Sock Man is here this summer, making yet another random appearance on a New Era 59FIFTY cap. This somewhat strange, smiling sock with dimples was one the logos that the Red Sox used from 1950 -1959, until sadly, he was relieved of his duties, and hadn’t been heard from for many years since… But that never stopped him from smiling! We wrote about our first incredible encounter with Sock Man back in 2013. You can read about it here. Since then, Sock Man been popping up on caps when you least expect it – and he sure looks happy about it! With the latest Sock Man fitted, the Red Sox have flipped the script on a 2013 release. This cap comes in a red crown, with a navy blue contrast visor and a grey bottom. The front is embroidered with Sock Man – a smiling, bat-wielding sock with ears! The side is stitched with the New Era flag and the MLB logo is on the back. We’re always happy to see Sock Man (smiles are contagious) making random appearances, but we feel that’s not enough. We hope that one day Sock Man can reclaim his status as the official alternate logo for the team. If you feel the same, let the Red Sox know! Here’s to you Sock Man. Keep smiling because big things are sure to come. Hit a grand slam for your collection. Pick up this cap today at Hat Club to SpeakWithYourSock and represent the Boston Red Sox proud!
