New Era, the official on-field cap of Major League Baseball (MLB®), announced the launch of the annual “Stars & Stripes” program. In its sixth year, the commemorative caps honor our Armed Forces through patriotic themes that remind us all of the dedication of our troops. A portion of proceeds from the sale of “Stars & Stripes” caps support the Welcome Back Veterans Fund, an organization that provides support to veterans and their families when they come home from war. This season, when players take the field on Memorial Day , their cap will feature a military digital camouflage design, officially licensed from the United States Military. The camo print is present throughout the entire cap – including the crown and visor. Traditional team colors will encompass the front logo for each franchise cap. “While camo print has been very popular, as of late, from a fashion perspective, we wanted to take a true approach to the inception of the camouflage print for these caps. Licensing the very design that the brave men and women of our military wear is an authentic approach that we are very proud of,” said Christopher H. Koch, New Era CEO. The caps will be available for purchase beginning in May at NewEraCap.com, MLB.com/Shop and in stadium shops, retailing for $37.99 . Fans can also look for another “Stars & Stripes” cap to be unveiled at a later date that players will wear on the Fourth of July.
We have the privilege, thanks to New Era to display a sneak peak of the 2013 NFL draft collection. This year’s look is more favorable than the first draft cap that hit shelves last year. The international baseball competition known as the World Baseball Classic will be held this 2013 in four host countries including Japan, Puerto Rico, Taiwan and the United States. The Dates for the main tournament are set from March 2nd to the 19th. The authentic onfield caps from the 2013 campaign are now available via the World Baseball Classic website.

New Era recently announced their Diamond New Era Collection. These caps will be worn by MLB teams during the 2013 spring training season. Some of these hats feature alternate logos of the teams – the true jewels in this release. Some of my personal favourite caps in this drop are the Toronto Blue Jays, Oakland A’s, and New York Mets. This collection will be available at MLB.com and spring training sites on February 22. On March 1, they will be available at nationwide retailers, New Era flagship locations, and the New Era website. It seems like New Era’s raising the bar for creativity this year and really aiming to fulfill the desires of the consumer. The batting practice New Era’s in previous releases were always in the form of a 39thirty cap.
