From a Phillies press release (I don't think the actual document is available to the public):
“Also new this season: Throwback Thursdays! On select Thursday home games the team will sport powder blue uniforms from the 1980s. More details for all of these throwback promos to come at a later date.”
I can only assume this means we'll be getting the burgundy TBTC caps again as well. Hopefully they put a small flat logo on them and make them more widely available than last year. Would be great if they carried them from day one at CBP. A period appropriate underbrim is needed for these as well.

Agreed, Guy. Was a CBP last season and really wanted an on-field burgundy throwback, not the Coop they offered (for $40, no less). Always disappointed when I visit a new park and don't walk away with a good cap. Anyways, assuming your wishes are met, I'll grab one this season. I have a 1970s Wilson on-field that an umpire friend of my grandpa's gave my dad, but I don't really wear that one. _________________ Check out my blog!

I would absolutely love to see the powder blue maroon batterman on that. |

I desperately want a MUSA poly version of the Retro Classic burgundy Phils cap Lids is carrying (with a corrected squatchee of course ) now that I know the history of that batterman. Gray underbrim + powder blue batterman works really well on that Retro Classic. I was hoping Hat Club would eventually put it out but I wouldn't mind if the Phils themselves did it first. I doubt they'd go to the trouble though. The black underbrim/no batterman combo on last year's caps was really half-assed.

Sounds like a nice collector's item. I have an 80's era SS Phils cap but I don't wear it either. It's kind of lumpy and soft as hell. Don't think even Re-cap could help it. |

Exactly. It's nice to have. More of a conversation piece with hat nerds and baseball fans, but it's also soft and lumpy. Recapping it would likely cause it to explode from the seams leaving me with little bits of burgundy fabric everywhere. Just holding out hope the Phils offer up something nicer than what they gave us last year. _________________ Check out my blog!

Agreed! I got the itch for that one once I saw the Retro Classic version in person and learned the history of the batterman. Seems like something only HC could be relied upon to release but even they managed to put the wrong underbrim color on their burgundy Liberty Bell custom last year. The burgundy/batterman cap needs a gray underbrim. |

For anyone paying attention, the Dbacks dropped their mono black, mono red, and red base sublimated cap this year. So technically they only have the Teal alt, black sublimated as current caps. _________________ Follow me on IG: @Fittedguy16 |
