A lot of nice looking new on fields for the upcoming season. Too bad none will be made in the US. That pretty much kills my excitement for them. |
Completely agree here. I will not be paying $40+ for some Bangladesh/China made poor quality caps. Only hope is to snag a team issued one while visiting a ball park this year. |

Spring training hats are starting to leak out. In classic NE fashion, they seem to be doing too much with them. New fabric, logo fill, the fill logo on the side for no reason, plus the back patch. I’m not big on the logo in logo but I’ll see how the Yankees turns out.

Seeing the Derby plant auction brought a tear to the eye. It looks like they held another auction last week. Maybe nothing sold, or only a few things. I hope this machinery finds a god home in the US and doesn't get shipped off overseas. Oh, what I'd do if I had some disposable income to throw around. _________________ The Ballcap Blog is back: @ http://ballcapblog.blogspot.com |

I like the back patch on the ST hats. I think the rest of it is going to be a mess. At least, the A's looks like a mess. I'm sure the Indians will suck. _________________ IG: erie_warrior19

Wonder if the St Patrick’s will follow the same format.
Edit: They do. Fanatics has them up now |

Some of these are pretty cool, some are terrible. The Angels looks like it should be in a White Stripes video. The Orioles is awful. Which really is too bad, but the one it replaced was pretty solid.
I like the D-Backs, Braves, Tigers, Brewers, Twins, Padres, Giants and Blue Jays. The others are meh. I'll pick up the Indians one at TJ Maxx for $10 in a year. _________________ IG: erie_warrior19

Some of them work really well, a few don’t work at all, like the Mets, and the rest are fine. The St. Patrick’s need a patch. |

Why the change in colors for the ST hat logo. In the past Florida was Turquiose/blue and Arizona was Orange/rust colored. Seems like someone change for no apparent reason. These logos suck. The Pirates is horrible, white logo? |

Looking at the new team pics from this spring training....it looks like the players caps are made of the thin greasy polyester. Now when I find one that has the thick polyester, I feel like I struck gold! Even the players are getting screwed on their own caps! |

Long story short, MUSA and made overseas caps used to have minor details that you could differentiate from one another. These little details add up. Someone posted here about a MUSA/ Imported materials cap that had a size band that was identical to a made overseas caps.
Basically, even if you find a MUSA cap from the past year, odds are it's 99% identical to overseas junk.
For the players caps, it feels they imported machinery. Everything from Derby got sold at an auction. |

Yes, the new made in Florida caps are 100% identical to the made in China caps. Most of the production of the caps is done overseas. They just ship the parts over and the contractors in Florida just stitch all the pieces together. They do not resemble the Derby caps in any way. If you are unsure if you have a Florida-made cap, check the white size band behind the sweatband. Derby used a solid white strip. Florida-made has the white crosshatching material for the strip just like the ones made overseas. They also fit a size smaller than normal. _________________ The Ballcap Blog is back: @ http://ballcapblog.blogspot.com |

Text color too on the size band. I want to say Derby was purple, and overseas a tan/brown.
Many derby caps used white threading in a unique spot, where the country of Orrin tag is stitched to the sweatband. |
