So one of my biggest regrets is not buying a Red Sox 2007WS On-Field. I thought I was in luck the other day while on mlb.com and I saw they had the 2004 on-fields and 2007 as well. The only problem is, THAT IS NOT the side-patch that was worn for the 2007 WS. What are they thinking/doing?! Anyone know what the deal with this is?

Here is the REAL 2007 WS hat:

It is a Cooperstown redo of the cap. For some reason they frequently screw up the WS patches on these. Most notably on the 1999 WS caps. This is just another example. They use the sleeve patch instead of the cap patch.

They aren't official on-fields.

There was a recent line of caps that came out with the World Series patches, and most were not correct with their World Series patches. New Era and MLB seems to forget they use multiple logos for the World Series, and put the wrong ones on the caps when they re-release the hats years later.

Isn't that the point of the full visor stickers?

It is probably less a screw up than a chance to double up on Red Sox collectors, then again this is NE and their recent track record is less than good.

Not everyone leaves the cool base stickers on. Look at all the fakes that turn up on ebay. Just think how many more there could be if you did not know what you are looking for.
