i was wondering the same thing about the 100% polyester hats. i've been searching around, a few sites recommended heating your oven to 300 degrees and placing the hat in there. has anyone tried that? how did that work out? |

polyester are diffferent, they were made to resist being shrinked from sweat... but i heard that too _________________ "I don't care what nobody say I'm a be me" |

I've done the soak the sweatband & dried it w/ a hairdryer on hot & high and that worked pretty well for me. Along w/ wrapping a shoelace behind the sweatband, I shrank a 7 3/4 into pretty much in between a 7 5/8 & 7 1/2 (my reg. size). |

I need to shrink the crown, just got one where the crown is way to deep
if I wet it with a spray bottle and dry it with a hair dryer would that work? |

I did not try that method yet, but one time I did soak my SF Giants hat in warm water and left it out to air dry in the sun. It did dry good, but the buckram got permanently warped and the hat was ruined. If you wear it while wet, will the crown lower AND the buckram not warp? |

For some reason Im too afraid to try that method, maybe everyone should do a practice run on their least favorite hats first to see what happens hahahahah. |

i feel like you might not even have to do the paper towel step in the dudes method. it seems to me that would be for fitting around your head more so than lowering the crown. my hat fits great on my head, the crown is just high. wonder if just doing the warm water inside the hat like he did would work. hmmmm |
