I have never seen this cap as an authentic on field cap before... Can anyone tell me the history of this cap? Was it used in a one off throwback uniform game or something?

I would guess a TBTC from the early 2000's. |

Reason I am asking is because I am usually good at knowing all the team's authentic on field cap designs. But I have never seen this one before (besides pictures from the 1900s). |

This is the one ive seen on eBay, I know the seller doesn't sell fake hats as he's collected alot over the years from what hes told me and ive seen alot of his hats that have sold a while ago.
And just so that your comfortable about the hat I know a little about it.
It was used in 2001 on a sunday game in honor of the american league centennial, the white sox wore throwbacks uni's from a victory game in 1917 WS. |

Also there was one similar to this one in 2006 but instead of the red piping in the middle it was the same color as the other one's and it was a blank hat where it didn't say SOX in the front. And the batter man was black and white. |

Because of the AL's centennial in 2001, the sox wore the hat for Sunday games. It was supposed to represent their 1917 World Series look |
